ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
With their faceted edges and unique varied color tones, the Geometric Napkin Rings make bold additions to your special table setting.
This unique, hand-crafted horn product is sustainably made from the horns of the Ankole-Watusi, or Ankole Longhorn, a breed of cattle native to western Uganda and parts of East Africa. These distinctive horns are a recycled byproduct of the food industry and are purchased directly from the cattle keepers, providing revenue for local cattle keeping communities. The horn is then hand carved and polished according to Maadili designs by a small scale artisan community.
WHY WE LOVE IT
We love these napkin rings for their commitment to zero-waste craftsmanship and community impact. By upcycling a material that would otherwise be discarded, Maadili Collective provides essential revenue for rural Ugandan cattle keepers. The faceted edges offer a modern, geometric contrast to the traditional material, making them a celebration of both heritage and sustainable design.

ALL THE DETAILS
Why are there different colors in my set?
Natural horn is inherently diverse, with colors ranging from creamy whites to deep blacks. This variation is a hallmark of authentic, un-dyed horn and ensures your table setting is truly unique.
Are the cattle harmed to get the horns?
No. The horns are a recycled byproduct of the existing local food industry. These materials are purchased directly from cattle keepers, turning waste into a valuable source of income for rural communities.
How do I care for natural horn?
Avoid the dishwasher and extreme heat. Simply wipe clean or hand wash with cool water, and avoid leaving them in direct sunlight to prevent the material from drying out.
